The University of New Orleans hosted a scavenger hunt with the hopes of recruiting more people to join the Society of Women Engineers. The event was organized by Leslie Clayton (Programs Chair), Danielle Berthelot (2012-2013 SWE GNO President), Carla Blais (Advocare Representative), and Allen Booty (Keystone Engineering). The event was sponsored by Keystone Engineering, Advocare, and Florida Marine.

The scavenger hunt started outside of Harrah’s Casino with Leslie opening a treasure chest containing scrolls. Each scroll consisted of eight pages of riddles, and one page containing the page numbers with blanks for the words the teams had to find. Teams had to find clues and solve the riddles, and then make their way to Drago’s located at a Hilton Hotel. At Drago’s the Society of Women Engineers presented awards to the winners and provided lunch for everyone who attended.

Here is an example of one of the most difficult riddles:
Before entering into the galleries Never Eat Tabasco,
But forget about Tabasco and think of something sweeter.
Take a closer look
The letters should appear,
Behind this place you will encounter a lady,
Gazing into an alley sitting quietly.
Submerged letters are near,
Where A=ϕ, a number will appear.

Can you guess the answer?
