SWE Email Aliases

What is a SWE email alias?

A SWE e-mail alias is an e-mail address created for the swe.org domain. This e-mail address forwards all mail to a designated e-mail account. The alias is NOT an e-mail account that can be logged into to. It is simply a pointer to a pre-existing e-mail account where message review is possible. For example, if Jane Doe requests an alias, SWE will create an address, jane.doe@swe.org. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it will then automatically forward to jane.doe@yahoo.com.

Why should I use an email alias?

There are two advantages to using an e-mail alias. First, you can provide your colleagues, friends, and family with your swe.org e-mail address. Should you change jobs or your personal internet service provider, you simply notify the SWE Alias Administrator of the new e-mail address to which your alias should point, rather than having to notify everyone that your e-mail address has changed. Secondly, using a SWE alias is a great way to show your commitment to the Society of Women Engineers and create awareness for the organization.
